Owner & Veterinarian
Dr. Leo Perlinger
Dr. Leo founded City Park Vet to build a clinic where a healthy team culture supports great care for clients and their pets. Originally from a mixed farm in rural Saskatchewan, he earned degrees in Animal Science and Veterinary Medicine from the University of Saskatchewan. He began his career in mixed animal practice before spending several years in Australia, where he treated everything from cats and dogs to kangaroos and koalas. These experiences deepened his passion for small animal medicine and gave him insight into what makes a clinic thrive. Leo’s interests include diagnostic imaging (especially ultrasound), dentistry, and surgery. But his favourite part of the job is the relationships—he believes animal people are the best kind of people. He and his husband, Pete, now live on an acreage outside Saskatoon with their dogs, Olive and Cashew; their cat, Fig; and a growing crew of farm animals. Outside the clinic, Leo enjoys running, horseback riding, curling, and spending time outdoors year-round.
